In some areas each village has a maypole, a very fall fir tree trunk, in
the centre of the village during May. It is uniquely decorated with ribbons,
wreaths or signs showing local craftmen's guilds and usually has a tree
top on the top.
On the eve of May 1st or on May
1st if is risen by the menfolk of the
village using long sticks and ropes.
The process is usually
